Despite the opening to this book, which came off as clumsy and just poorly written the author Craig Shaw Gardner pulled off the same trick as the story. With the revelation of a sloppy, fake Batman the focus turned towards the Bruce Wayne that we all know and love, as Craig turned from sloppy and poor writing into someone who capably wrote the character with real knowledge/5. Craig Shaw Gardner has proven himself to be a decent writer with other movie-ties and he does a good job here. It follows the movie rather closely up until the scene in Vicki Vale's apartment when, instead of shooting Bruce Wayne in front of everyone, the Joker kidnaps Vicki and drags her to a photo opportunity with the mayor while Batman gives chase on horseback/5(14). Reviewed in the United States on January 8, The adaptation of the film by Craig Shaw Gardner is my most favorite book. It was a masterful and touching a truly exciting and excellent book. Completely moving, and it adds wonderful depth to the film/5(26).
